John Paul II A Pontificate of images - BOOK, BIG FORMAT

This new book has been published by the Photographic Service O.R. of Vatican City to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the birth of Pope John Paul II (May 18th, 1920).

All the 150 pictures selected for this volume come from the immense Archives of the Photographic Service and most of them have never published before. They bring back John Paul's spiritual and phisical presence, in a very touching way.

 This book shows us "John Paul II in all his beauty and fascination. A truly "beautiful" Pope, particularly as regards the singular way he carried out his apostolic mission, in the way he interpreted it which is characteristic of Karol Wojtyla's amazing charisma" (from the introduction of Card. The first section - Pilgrim of the world - refers to his many apostolic visits in the streets of the world in order to bring the Good News of salvation to all the people on earth.
The pictures of the second section - A friend to all - highlight his deep humanity, his great closeness to all human kind, regardless their race, religion or culture.
