Norms on the delicts reserved to the Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith

The document contains the substantive norms on “delicts against the faith, as well as the more grave delicts committed against morals and in the celebration on the sacraments”, for which the competence lays exclusively in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and the procedural laws “to declare or impose canonical sanctions”. The text is in Latin with a parallel text in English.
This document, approved by Benedict XVI in 2010, represents the revised norms promulgated by John Paul II in 2001 with the Apostolic Letter issued Motu proprio «Sacramentorum sanctitatis tutela». In its appendix, we find the Circular Letter to assist episcopal conferences in developing guidelines for dealing with cases of sexual abuses of minors perpetrated by clerics.
